COMMITTEE dESCRIPTIONS

Campus Life

(1) Coordinate and extend ASUH programs to ASUH members that help foster a unified university community.

(2) Work to provide programs, events, and services that create an all-inclusive positive campus atmosphere.

Campus Sustainability

(1) To investigate and promote short and long-term sustainable development on the University of Hawai‘i at M?noa

(2) To encourage environmental accountability throughout the University of Hawai‘i at M?noa

(3) To aid in the development of a healthy and environmentally sustainable campus through educational programs.

Elections

(1) Coordinate ASUH General and Special Elections.

(2) Coordinate a voter registration drive.

(3) Revise Polling Marshal procedures, candidate packets and Election rules as necessary.

External Affairs

(1) Research and prepare testimony concerning issues representing the ASUH Senate.
(2) Represent the official positions of ASUH in accordance with the above at official functions in the absence of the President.
(3) Create and maintain an accurate image of ASUH, and maintain open communication with media outlets.

Finance & Investments

(1) Receive, investigate and make recommendations on measures pertaining to the appropriation of ASUH funds and the financial affairs of the ASUH.

(2) Shall be responsible for making recommendations on RIO funding.

(3) Review and recommend the disposition of all financial requests made to the senate.

(4) Monitor and report to the Senate on matters dealing with the investment portfolio, and recommend action to the Senate regarding the investments.

(5) Review transactions conducted in the administration of the ASUH Stadium Stock Fund and make recommendations to the Senate.

(6) Create and review recommendations for the long-term welfare of ASUH as an organization, incorporating monetary and organizational aspects.

Internal Affairs

(1) Investigate and research vacant student representative positions and recruit qualified student members for nomination to said position.

(2) Review and Revise the Constitution with the consent of the President in accordance with the conditions provided for under Article XII, Section A.

(3) Review and revise the Rules of the Senate and Elections rules.

(4) Make recommendations regarding any amendments to the above documents before a vote may be taken in the Senate.

(5) Investigate all complaints leveled against Executive Officers or Senators in an objective and timely manner.

(6) Maintain correspondence with elected Presidential appointees to student representative positions.

(7) To examine prior performances and explore long-range planning for the ASUH.

Student Affairs

(1) To address non-academic student affairs issues on campus through resolutions, and working with the administration and other departments to bring resolutions to fruition.

(2) Receive, investigate and make recommendations on complaints, grievances, problems and proposals, which are related to the non-academic concerns of the University.

(3) Make recommendations to the senate on issues regarding cultural and ethnic issues related to students.

Cultural & Ethnic Diversity

(1) Receive, investigate and make recommendations on complaints, grievances, problems and proposals that are related to the academic concerns of the University.

(2) To address academic student issues on campus through resolutions, and working with administration and other departments to bring resolutions to fruition

(3) Shall also facilitate ASUH scholarships, reimbursements, and grants and provide award recommendations to the General Senate.
