Students, whose home campus is not UH Mānoa, are also not eligible to apply for the scholarships and awards.

Where can I get an official university transcript?

The official University of Hawai'i at Mānoa transcript can be purchased from the Academic Records and Services office. Their office is located on the first floor of the Queen Lili‘uokalani Center for Student Services (QLC Room 105). There should be a window that has transcript request forms available on the side. Fill out a form and pay at one of the business windows. There is a fee of $5 for your transcripts to be processed that usually takes about 1 week.

I’m a freshman/transfer student new to the University. Which transcripts do I submit?

Because you are a new student to the University, your most recent transcripts must be submitted. If you are an incoming freshman, please submit your official high school transcripts. If you are a new transfer student, please submit the official transcripts from your previous institution.

What is the scholarship/award selection process?

Applications are located at the bottom of the respective scholarships/awards page. After you’ve submitted all the required documents by the appropriate deadline, the application will be reviewed by the ASUH Committee on Undergraduate Academic Affairs and various UH Mānoa faculty members.

For the ASUH Scholarship and Study Abroad Scholarship:

The essay and letter of recommendation will be given to members of the selection committee consisting of various faculty throughout the Mānoa campus. All personal information will be removed from the reviewers’ copies to alleviate any favoritism in selection. After the selection committee submits their results to the ASUH Committee on Undergraduate Academic Affairs, the scores will be tallied and checked multiple times to ensure accuracy. Awardees will be selected based on their scores. All applicants will then be notified via email of the results.

For the Research Award:

The ASUH Committee on Undergraduate Academic Affairs will email all applicants to schedule a presentation. Members of the Undergraduate Academic Affairs committee will score the applicants’ presentations and application. Members of the committee with any relation to the applicant will not review the applicant’s submissions due to conflict of interest. The ASUH Committee on Undergraduate Academic Affairs will award applicants based on the scores. All applicants will then be notified via email of the results.

For the Graduate Test Preparation Award:

Members of the Undergraduate Academic Affairs committee will score the applicants’ letter of recommendation and essay. The ASUH Committee on Undergraduate Academic Affairs will award applicants based on the scores. All applicants will then be notified via email of the results.
